A MAJOR CHANGE IS SET TO BE MADE AT PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB CHELSEA AND EVEN OWNER ROMAN ABRAMOVIC HAS AGREED TO IT ACCORDING TO REPORTS.
Premier League giants Chelsea are planning to redesign their famous club crest according to reports from England. The news is that they are already in the process of making changes to their already existing crest.

The Blues’ current crest was designed 13 years ago and was approved by owner Roman Abramovich. However, it appears that the London-based club wants to make adjustments to the badge and has even sort the approval from the Russian.
Chelsea’s current crest consists of a blue lion holding a staff, which is the Earl of Cadogan’s coat of arms, surrounded by a ring. ‘Chelsea’ and ‘Football Club’ is written on the upper and lower sides of the ring.

If the report is to be believed, the lion on the badge will stay, while the change is set to be made to the font of the wording on the crest as part of a ‘freshening’ process.
“The crest is being redesigned. There won’t be massive changes but it’s being given a freshen up,“ a Chelsea source told to English media outlet the Express.

The Blues’ previous badge also had a lion of in it, but didn’t consist of the staff or the outer ring. The old one had ‘CFC’ on it rather than ‘Chelsea Football Club’. However, it was changed to the current one in 2005 during Abramovich’s reign.
AUTHOR’S TAKE:
Making changes to something like a logo or a crest is too risky as many find it difficult to adapt to change. Current Premier League champions Manchester City had made such a change recently, which was not received very well by the fans nor the footballing world. Chelsea should be careful with the changes they make.
